LENA KRAMARIĆ

about Genijator

The artistic association Genijator is a platform that joins visual and dance artistic practices in the context of performance and education. Combining these two fields, artists Lena Kramarić and Martina Tomić offer different creative content via multimedia projects, exhibitions and educational workshops.

The association was formally established in 2016 following a series of collaborations between the artists on the projects: Luxury (2013) in cooperation with ekscena and Open Atelier (Academia Moderna, Zagreb) and Art Workshop Lazareti (Lazareti, Dubrovnik) and Irresponsibles (2014), which also included artists Hrvoslava Brkušić and Ivana Pipal (developed as part of a residency program at Zagreb Dance Center and in cooperation with the Croatian Institute for Movement and Dance HIPP).

From 2016 to 2020 Genijator has produced various works by Lena Kramarić with the support of the City of Dubrovnik and the Dubrovnik-Neretva County: Image*She and Where the rainbow sleeps (Dubrovnik, 2016), CROATIA COLLECTION (Sao Paolo, Brasil, 2018), ART EXPO LJUBLJANA (Ljubljana, Slovenia, 2019) and an exhibition supported by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs (Valleta, Malta, 2018). With the support of the City of Dubrovnik both artists also collaborate with the dramaturge Ivana Đula on multumedia projects Between us (Art Workshop Lazareti, Dubrovnik, 2017) and How it's better to be a cat in Dubrovnik (Art workshop Lazareti, Mediterranean Dance Center Svetvinčenat, 2018). A collaboration between Ivana Đula and Lena Kramarić on their project Picture book (2021) is soon to to be expected.
